Free, registration required: Register here

Join Galway City Council’s Active Travel team for guided site visits to some of the newest infrastructural projects in Galway City Centre.

The short, guided walk, starting in Father Burke Park, will visit The Crescent / Sea Road Junction Upgrade, which includes the installation of Galway City Council’s first rain gardens, which help to prevent flooding and enhance drainage by capturing and absorbing rainwater.

In addition, the tour will also visit other projects delivered by the Active Travel Department at Droichead an Dóchais, Eglinton Canal, Wolfe Tone Bridge and Scoil Iognáid, Raleigh Row.

This is a hands-on, outdoor experience ideal for those interested in active travel, nature-based solutions, sustainable urban design, water management, and green infrastructure.
