Common Knowledge & Queer Sheds Panel

Saturday, 17:00-18:00,

Festival Tent, Father Burke Park,

Free, no registration required.

Queer Sheds, Men’s Sheds and Women’s Sheds have each set out to create a different kind of space, inclusive, non-judgmental, and built around practical skills, making, and being together. Across Ireland, particularly in rural areas, many people continue to face isolation and limited access to community and support, and these movements have grown in response to that need. From humble beginnings, they have evolved into thriving national networks, with Queer Sheds alone now counting 15 sheds and over 1,000 people taking part across the country. This panel brings together voices from all three movements in the west of Ireland to talk about what community-led shedding looks like on the ground, what it has built, and where it is going.
