Join MC Shani Williams for an exciting evening of rapid-fire climate stories from community groups, showcasing their sustainability projects and innovative ideas to a live, receptive audience.
‘Giob Geab’ is an Irish interpretation of the Japanese presentation format Pecha Kucha — 5 slides, 1 minute each, using mainly images — designed to make the evening as engaging and fun as possible. It’s a celebration of the extraordinary environmental, biodiversity and climate actions taking place across Galway City and County. New for this year, the audience can ask each presenter 1 question, which needs to be answered in 1 minute! Shani will be keeping everyone on their toes and on time!
On the night we will have 9 interesting and exciting presentations from:
Densie Feeney – Galway County Council,
Luana Jungmann – Climate Action Officer with Action Taisce
Stephanie Brennan – Comharchumann Fuinnimh Oileáin Árann Teo
Brendan Mulligan – GLUAS
Brendán O’ Loinsigh – Ballinderreen Community centre and GAA Club
Frank Monahan – Architecture at the Edge
Jenny Beale – Brigit’s Garden
Dennis Mulgannon – Business Green Journey-Thermo King
Lisa Smyth – Galway City Council
Galway City and County staff will also present, and the evening provides a great opportunity for networking and learning in an informal, welcoming environment.
New for 2026, the festival is delighted to partner with Galway City Night-Time Economy, funded by Galway City Council and the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, supporting an expanded programme of evening and late-night events across locations.
