Festival Tent, Father Burke Park,

Free Registration Required: Register here.

Join environmental journalist and author John Gibbons for an in-conversation event centred on his new book ‘The Lie of the Land’ — an unflinching examination of the choices Ireland faces on land use, food systems, energy, and how we make decisions that affect our health, wellbeing and natural environment.

A familiar voice on Irish media, John has spent over fifteen years writing and campaigning on environmental and climate issues. He is the founder of Climatechange.ie and the blog ThinkOrSwim.ie, and a regular contributor to The Irish Times, The Business Post, The Guardian and more.

John will be interviewed by Dr. Patrick Collins, the Head of Geography at the University of Galway, Founder of UrbanLab Galway and author of Galway: Making a Capital of Culture. (Pat teaches on the new MA in International Development and researches spatial wealth distribution and sustainable economic practices.)
