John Spillane is a musician, songwriter, performer, recording artist, storyteller, poet and dreamer. Rooted in people, place and story, his music transports the listener and his live performances captivate audiences around the world.

John Spillane's creativity and songwriting has always been heavily inspired by Nature.  He celebrates the fields surrounding the farm where he spent much of his youth on his song 'Gortatagort', He honours the choirs of birds song on 'The Dawn Chorus' and his forthcoming release  Fíoruisce - The Legend of the Lough , is a three-act Gaelic folk opera that centres on The Lough in Cork  an area John describes as 'a hidden gem and a natural place of healing'

 John’s music is inspired by and encapsulates Irish traditional music in its contemporary form – a reflection of Ireland today. This special, bilingual, family-friendly performance as a part of The Galway Climate Inspirations Festival is one not to miss!

In October 2022, John released ‘In Another Light’ a career-spanning album recorded live at the Right
Here Right Now Festival recorded at Cork Opera House in November 2021.
